Co-County Wellness Services, is seeking part-time volunteer Contact Tracers to support the Pennsylvania Department of Public Health, and specifically Berks County, PA to perform COVID-19 contact tracing. Contact Barb Waller for more info. [email protected].
8 hours per week – 3 month commitment and possibly longer.
You will be trained and supervised by the CCWS and may be supported by trained community volunteers and interns from local colleges. The aim of this work will be to call the contacts of identified COVID-19 positive cases.
Responsibilities
- Call contacts of newly diagnosed patients from a secure location in order to maintain confidentiality.
- Communicate with contacts in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Collect and record information on symptoms into an DOH / CCWS approved platform.
- Provide contacts with approved information about Pennsylvania quarantine procedures, and if appropriate, refer them to testing according to protocol and for social supports, including 211.
- Contact tracers will follow the script to inform contacts about the importance of quarantine and what to do if symptoms develop.
- Contact tracers will be required to use their own telephone, computer and electronic equipment.
